Welcome to our Class!

 We are so excited to get this school year started - there are some great books on our horizon! This year we will study some of the historical greats from literature: Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, the Brontë Sisters, and Mary Shelley; as well as some more recent greats: Ray Bradbury, Kurt Vonnegut, Margaret Atwood, and Toni Morrison. As this is the first class where some of you may be taking a deep dive into literature, you can find extra resources and helpful tips here - as well as some of our favorite books. 

As the school year progresses, you will have to opportunity to submit your reviews of the books we read. They will be posted here, under "In my Opinion". There are no wrong answers here - tell us how you felt, what stuck out to you, which characters you loved and hated, what historical context you think is important for a reader to know, or anything else you feel should be shared. 

Under the "Extra Resources" page, you'll find the list of books for this year's course, as well as tools for understanding and analyzing these works. We will work on annotation and analysis in class, but having extra tools never hurts! 

We can't wait to see you in class, and read some of the great works of literature with you!
